If you’re just starting your business, or looking to grow it, you’re likely focusing on the logistics: services, pricing, social media, networking. But here’s something many entrepreneurs overlook: your story ! Your story is part of your brand. And not just any story, the one that lives in your heart. The story of how you got here, why you do what you do, and what lights you up inside. When you share that, people don’t just understand your business, they feel connected to it.

As an intuitive coach and self-publishing expert, I’ve worked with many clients who have had amazing experience and talent, but weren’t sure how to talk about it. They had resumes, sure, but no narrative. No anchor. Once they uncovered and shared their personal story whether in print, digital or video, their confidence grew and so did their reach. Why? Because people want to work with people. Not a logo. Not a list of services. You.
Your story doesn’t have to be dramatic. It just needs to be real. Maybe you started your wellness business because of your own healing journey. Maybe you became a coach after leaving a career that no longer fit. These turning points hold power. They show people that you’re not just offering a service, you’re offering insight, empathy, and lived experience. That’s what makes you the expert.
This is why I recommend creating a print or digital handout (and in some cases even a book). It’s something you can easily send to a potential client, collaborator, or podcast host. Think of it like a “story-based business card.” It might include your background, what you offer, who you help, and most importantly, why it matters to you. It doesn’t need to be long or fancy, but it does need to be true to you.
The digital world moves fast, and people are skimming through profiles, websites, and social feeds constantly. Having your story ready and available, whether it’s on your homepage, your Instagram bio, or a downloadable PDF helps people know within seconds: yes, this person is for me. And if writing it down feels overwhelming, that’s where I can help. This is the heart of what I do. I help professionals craft and share the story they’ve lived into something clear, compelling, and confident.
Sharing your story, weather in a short or long format can change how people see your business… and how you see yourself. When you own your story, you claim your space. And when that happens, growth follows.
When you’re ready for support, I’m here to help you take the next step owning your story.
